Wolves Pigs And Men Limited Edition Blu-Ray
Kuroki (Mikuni), Jir? (Takakura), and Sabu (Kita?ji) are three brothers born into poverty. Kuroki, the eldest, finds a way out of his miserable start in life by turning to organized crime—and soon both Jir? and Sabu have followed him into the yakuza lifestyle. But none of the brothers get along, each showing more loyalty to their criminal comrades than to their siblings. After a prison sentence, Jir? convinces Sabu to help him carry out a potentially lucrative coup, leading to a series of betrayals and horrific acts of violence that will test the bonds of blood to breaking point.
Wolves, Pigs and Men, which blends the basic themes of Japanese gangster films with narrative and aesthetic qualities borrowed from the French New Wave and American film noir, is one of the finest yakuza films of the 1960s. The Masters of Cinema series is proud to present the film on Blu-ray for the first time in the UK from a new restoration of the original film elements by Toei.
