An English coastal town in the 1920s witnesses a farcical and sometimes ominous scandal in this harrowing mystery comedy. WICKED LITTLE LETTERS is based on a true story that is stranger than fiction and follows two neighbors: the deeply conservative Edith Swan (Olivia Colman) and the boisterous Irish immigrant Rose Gooding (Jessie Buckley). When Edith and the other residents begin receiving nasty letters full of unintentionally funny profanity, Rose is accused of the crime. The anonymous letters cause a stir throughout the country and a trial ensues. But when the town's women—led by police officer Gladys Moss (Anjana Vasan)—begin investigating the crime themselves, they suspect that something is not right and that Rose may not be the culprit after all.
