Ghosts lurk everywhere in Ann (Boat People) Hui's horror comedy Visible Secret. Peter immediately falls in love with the mysterious June (Shu Qi, Millennium Mambo), who has memory loss and the ability to see ghosts, and is swept into a world where he has one foot in the past and one in the present, and somehow has to figure out what's what. Visible Secret is beautifully shot by legendary cinematographer Arthur Wong (The 36th Chamber of Shaolin, Iron Monkey) and is a stylish and sexy horror comedy that reflects the region's contemporary turn of the millennium in its vivid portrayal of young people stuck in history and trying to grasp both the world around them and each other as they navigate life, love, identity, and family.
