He always believes the best in people and manages to persuade the management to let him put on a play with the prisoners. The tough guys in the bunker show little interest, but eventually five of them decide to devote themselves to a little theater for a higher goal—the chance to escape!

In 2020, the French version, Waiting for Freedom, premiered in both its home country and Sweden. By popular demand, VÄGEN UT is now back on DVD after a 15-year absence.
