Triple Cross (DVD)

During World War II, British safe cracker Eddie Chapman is sentenced to 14 years in prison on the island of Jersey. When the Germans occupy the island, he manages to win their trust and is trained as a spy under the Nazi banner. He is parachuted into England to blow up an important war factory. But the first thing he does is go to the British War Office. Why settle for one employer when you can get paid by two?

TRIPLE CROSS, based on Frank Owen's non-fiction book, is the film that the British intelligence service tried to stop. Hitchcock wanted to film the story, but was dissuaded. Bond director Terence Young took over and attracted stars such as Christopher Plummer, Yul Brynner, and 007 actors Gert Fröbe (the title role in Goldfinger) and Claudine Auger (the Bond girl in Dr. No).
