Tomie is based on the successful series of the same name by cult manga artist Junji It? (Uzumaki) and tells the story of an evil high school girlfrom high school who is recognizable by a beauty mark under her left eye and whose enchanting kiss drives men mad.
Photography student Tsukiko (Mami Nakamura, Tokyo Trash Baby, Love Exposure) is plagued by violent dreams when, with the help of psychiatrist Dr. Hosono (Yoriko Douguchi, Cure, Charisma) to recall long-suppressed memories following a traumatic experience in her teens. At the same time, Detective Harada (Tomor? Taguchi, Tetsuo: The Iron Man) leads an investigation into the disappearance of a high school girl and discovers a long series of similar cases dating back several decades, in which all the victims go by the name Tomie Kawakami, and all are slaughtered and beheaded by jealous lovers before reaching womanhood. At the same time, Tsukiko's new neighbor seems to be harboring something strange in the apartment downstairs, something that quickly begins to take a dangerous form.
Tomie is a scary supernatural chiller directed by Ataru Oikawa (screenwriter of the groundbreaking Japanese horror film Door) and featuring a chilling performance by the sensational Miho Kanno (Eko Eko Azarak: Wizard of Darkness, Dolls).
