Tiny Tim - King for a day (Blu-ray)

Sale price209 kr

The story of Herbert Khaury, who felt he didn't fit in anywhere, but who, as his alter ego Tiny Tim, achieved unparalleled stardom. His rise to fame is like a fairy tale, but it also led to his downfall. He began his career performing in various freak shows, but around 1968 became one of the United States' biggest artists with the hit "Tip Toe Through the Tulips." Whether he was considered a genius or a "freak," he leaves no one indifferent. When he got married live on TV on The Carson Show, it was watched by over 45 million Americans, and his strange personality has been praised by everyone from Bob Dylan to Marilyn Manson and Lady Gaga. Everyone believed and hoped that Tiny Tim's character would endure, but one man understood these plans: himself.

Johan von Sydow (The Saga of Jussi, It's Me Who's a Genius! and SVT Kobra) has created a unique portrait of a character without equal, which also functions as a psychological thriller in the search for the difference between genius and madness. A music-filled documentary with excerpts from Tiny Tim's own diary, fittingly read by none other than "Weird Al" Yankovic. The film is partly inspired by the book "Eternal Troubadour: The improbable life of Tiny Tim" and is constructed from archive material featuring Tiny Tim, interviews with colleagues and family members, and ambitious animated elements.
