New England, 1630. An English farmer threatened with excommunication by the church leaves his colonial plantation and moves his family to a remote plot on the edge of an ominous forest - where an unknown evil lurks. Strange and disturbing things begin to happen—animals become vicious, crops fail, one child disappears, and another appears to be possessed by an evil spirit.
