The Story Of Adele H Limited Edition Blu-Ray
The year is 1863. Adele Hugo (Isabelle Adjani, Possession) is the daughter of legendary poet and novelist Victor Hugo. After falling in love with British soldier Lieutenant Pinson (Bruce Robinson), Adele sails alone to Nova Scotia with the intention of persuading Pinson to marry her. Pinson coldly rejects her advances; undeterred, she continues to pursue him, and her obsession becomes increasingly wild and desperate, leading to her becoming increasingly ostracized from society. The Story of Adele H is a beautifully crafted costume drama that is one of François Truffaut's darkest and most psychologically complex works, featuring a legendary, Oscar-nominated central performance by the then 20-year-old Adjani.
