Young Anthony Soprano grows up during one of the most turbulent periods in Newark's history. As he comes of age, rival gangsters begin to challenge the almighty DiMeo crime family and their grip on a city increasingly fractured by race riots. He idolizes his uncle Dickie Moltisanti, who struggles to manage both his professional and personal responsibilities during these turbulent times. His uncle's influence on his nephew will shape the teenager into the all-powerful mafia boss we later come to know as Tony Soprano.
