The Last Movie DVD
A film crew from Hollywood travels to Peru to shoot a western movie. When production is over, stuntman Kansas (Hopper) stays behind with a prostitute. The filming location is now taken over by local Indians who recreate a series of violent scenes from the film. But this time without movie tricks. The violence is real!
Acclaimed worldwide for Easy Rider, THE LAST MOVIE would become Dennis Hopper's even bigger follow-up. Filming took place in a mountain village high up in the Peruvian mountains, where drugs were rife among the cast while Hopper did his best to provoke both the church and the military junta. Despite the chaos, the film was completed and got off to a brilliant start when it won an award in Venice. But Universal Pictures hated the film and demanded that it be re-edited. Hopper stubbornly refused, which was the start of a feud that would last for almost half a century and make the film known as "the film everyone knows, but no one has seen." Until today, when it has finally been released. In restored condition. In Hopper's original form!
