Deeply shocked after confronting a notorious serial killer who has maimed a number of women, TV reporter Karen White suffers from trauma. Karen's doctor persuades her to recuperate at his health resort, which is located in a secluded spot on the coast. But the other guests are behaving strangely. And at night, the silence is constantly broken by blood-curdling howls from the forest...

THE HOWLING caused a sensation at its premiere with makeup effects never seen before. Behind these effects was 21-year-old Rob Bottin, the genius who later worked wonders on The Thing and won an Oscar for Total Recall. Joe Dante (Gremlins, Piranha) directed the film, which was such a success that it has spawned seven (!) sequels to date. Swedish cinema audiences saw a version that had been cut by four minutes due to censorship, but now we can enjoy the film in its uncut glory.
