The Carter family is traveling through the Yucca Desert in their large motorhome when their car breaks down. The area seems completely deserted, but they are not alone. Since ancient times, a tribe of cannibals has lived here, and when they attack the family, it is in the most brutal way imaginable. For the survivors, there is now only one way to survive. To embrace their own most primitive violent instincts and sink to the barbaric level of their enemies......
THE HILLS HAVE EYES was, like Wes Craven's own The Last House on the Left and The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, a groundbreaking 1970s film, with more realistic and raw violence than had been seen before. The small indie film was a huge success in US cinemas and grossed fifty times its budget. Michael Berryman became a major horror icon thanks to his distinctive appearance, although most people probably recognize him best from One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. Dee Wallace also made a name for herself in the horror genre with Cujo, The Howling, and Critters. And then, of course, she played the mother in E.T.
