The Ghost Of Yotsuya Blu-Ray

Samurai Iemon (Kazuo Hasegawa, Gate of Hell) has distanced himself from his wife Oiwa since she suffered a miscarriage. Oume, the beautiful young daughter of a wealthy family, falls in love with Iemon after he rescues her from a group of drunken swordsmen. Oiwa finds out about the budding affair and is devastated. Without his knowledge, Iemon's friends conspire to pave the way for him to marry Oume by poisoning his wife. But Oiwa returns from the grave as a terrifyingly deformed ghost to haunt Iemon and her tormentors. Director Kenji Misumi (Lone Wolf and Cub) and writer Fuji Yahiro (Sansho the Bailiff, A Bloody Spear at Mt. Fuji) transform the typical Japanese ghost story into a deeply moving, fateful romance with frightening ghost scenes that would leave a deep impression on the creators of J-horror.
