The Dresser Limited Edition Blu-Ray
During World War II, a group of actors tour the industrial north of the country with Shakespeare, led by an aging and imperious actor known only as "Sir" (Finney), against a backdrop of air raid sirens and exploding bombs. With his mental and physical health in decline, the selfless costume designer Norman (Courtenay) struggles to ensure that the performance— Sir's 227th performance as King Lear – can continue.
Based on the experiences of screenwriter Ronald Harwood (The Pianist), assistant to legendary Shakespearean actor Sir Donald Wolfit (90° in the Shade), The Dresser is a moving exploration of loyalty and unrequited love.
