While serving in Northern Ireland, British soldier Jody is kidnapped by the IRA. While in captivity, an unexpected friendship develops between Jody and the terrorist Fergus. When the police raid the hideout, Fergus manages to escape to London, where he seeks out Jody's girlfriend, the beautiful hairdresser Dil, with whom he quickly falls in love. Fergus cannot, of course, reveal who he really is, but what is more surprising is Dil's reaction...
