The Bride Wore Black Blu-Ray
Jeanne Moreau (Jules et Jim) plays the lead role as the bride, who, after marrying her beloved, sees him murdered on the steps outside the church. She then takes ruthless revenge on the group of men responsible. François Truffaut's The Bride Wore Black was undoubtedly an influence on Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill, but was in turn influenced by the director's idol, Alfred Hitchcock. Truffaut's film, which is an adaptation of the famous crime writer Cornel Woolrich (who also wrote the short story on which Hitchcock's Rear Window is based), is an exquisitely entertaining story that was one of the director's greatest successes. Alongside Moreau, the film features a sensational cast, including Michael Lonsdale, Jean-Claude Brialy, Charles Denner, and Michel Bouquet, among others, and has a score by maestro Bernard Herrmann (Psycho).SPECIAL FEATURES Digital transfer in high resolution Original audio in uncompressed mono PCM Archive interviews with François Truffaut and Jeanne Moreau (1968, 1969)p>
