Jean-Pierre Mocky was a prolific icon in French cinema. Mocky, who was an actor, director, novelist, and sought-after storyteller, made mainstream films with an independent spirit and even owned a cinema to help with the distribution of his films. But these films had a specific style, unmistakably his, often with controversial and unusual themes, and he became known as a wild and untameable force who acted as an uncompromising agitator within the French film industry for over six decades. Three of his wild film adventures from the 1980s are collected in this new box set. The cult horror film Litan, the hooligan horror film Kill the Referee, and the Hitchcockian mystery Agent Trouble are presented from new 4K restorations on Blu-ray for the first time outside France.Nora wakes up from a disturbing dream and discovers that her husband has disappeared during a trip to Litan. She sets out to find him but encounters one bizarre event after another at the village festival, including eerie acts and a masked marching band. When Nora and Jock try to escape from the village, a series of strange murders take place against the backdrop of a mad doctor conducting experiments on the recently deceased. Jean-Pierre Mocky's Litan is a classic cult film in Euro-horror and a Kafkaesque fever dream of surreal images, captivatingly filmed by Edmond Richard (The Rat Trap, The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie).

When a judge hands down a sentence that causes a French soccer team to crash out of the championship, their ultra-dedicated hooligan fans vow to track him down and murder him before the evening is over, while Commissioner Granowski (played by director Jean-Pierre Mocky) tries to stop the bloodbath. With a relentless narrative reminiscent of After Hours and Green Room, Kill the Referee mixes black humor with horror as the escalating sense of dread builds toward a devastating climax.

A bus carrying fifty French tourists lies dead. While the driver makes a phone call, a hiker, Victorien (Tom Novembre, Denti), boards the bus and kills all the passengers. When he returns home, he visits his aunt Amanda (Catherine Deneuve, The Hunger) and reveals his secret to her, which inadvertently leads to the ice-cold hitman Alex (Richard Bohringer, The Cook, the Thief, His Wife & Her Lover) taking an interest in her. Jean-Pierre Mocky's wonderfully eccentric mystery is a Hitchcockian conspiracy thriller with a light comedic touch that carefully balances the grotesque elements. It features a wonderful cast that includes César-nominated Dominique Lavant, Pierre Arditi, and Kristin Scott Thomas in only her second appearance on the silver screen.
