Tank Girl Blu-Ray

Tank Girl, brought to the big screen by director Rachel Talalay (Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare) and starring Lori Petty (Point Break), is a post-apocalyptic science fiction film – and a true cult classic – based on the popular comic series created by Alan Martin and Jamie Hewlett. The year is 2033, and the Earth's population has suffered from drought for over a decade. The planet's water supply is now controlled by the megalomaniac businessman Kesslee (Malcolm McDowell), owner of the Water & Power corporation. But in Australia, there is at least some resistance. If Kesslee wants to take control of the last water source in the Outback, he must deal with the Rippers mutated hybrids of humans and kangaroos – and Rebecca Buck, alias Tank Girl (Petty): a woman with a tank, a bad attitude and a determination to save the world from destruction.

Tank Girl was first published in the British comic book Deadline in 1988 and began as a comic strip before becoming a cult phenomenon in the 1990s. In 1995, the main character appeared in a new series of stories under DC Comics' Vertigo imprint and this feature film adaptation, which was part of a boom in comic book movies that also included The Shadow, Judge Dredd, and The Phantom.
