Suzhou River Blu-Ray

Mardar is a petty criminal who delivers packages without asking questions. Until he is asked to deliver a MeiMei, the daughter of a shady smuggler. She looks just like his lost love Moudan, who threw herself into the Suzhou River, and Mardar becomes convinced that she is his dead lover. Ye Lou's award-winning reworking of Hitchcock's Vertigo is set in the dark wastelands of Shanghai and is a visual delight with a kinetic style reminiscent of Wong Kar-wai's Chungking Express. Suzhou River is a unique take on the neo-noir genre and has been newly restored in 4K and is available on Blu-ray for the first time in the UK.
