High up in the mountains of Tibet, there is wildlife that few have seen. Documentary filmmaker Marie Amiguet travels to this inhospitable region together with Vincent Munier, one of the world's foremost nature photographers, and author Sylvain Tesson. Their goal is to see and photograph the snow leopard, one of the world's rarest felines, with their own eyes. It will be both an adventurous and contemplative journey. A love of nature is something that permeates the lives of the trio behind SNÖLEOPARDEN. Photographer Vincent Munier, three-time winner of BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year and Nikon European Ambassador, has been photographing the wildlife around him since he was twelve. Director Marie Amiguet previously served as photographer on The Valley of the Wolves. She originally earned a bachelor's degree in biology, but her desire to make documentaries about animals and nature quickly led her down the path she has followed ever since. In the early 2010s, author Sylvain Tesson wrote the award-winning wilderness memoir The Consolations of the Forest: Alone in a Cabin on the Siberian Taiga, which was adapted into the filmIn the Forests of Siberia. SNÖLEOPARDEN has attracted large audiences to cinemas in France, with nearly 500,000 viewers so far!
Warren Ellis is responsible for the music, in collaboration with Nick Cave. Ellis has said of The Snow Leopard that it is "one of the most beautiful films we have ever worked on."
