WILD WEST coast, 1922. Prohibition is in full swing in Sweden, and Bohuslän's own Al Capone, Strauss, is making a fortune smuggling alcohol to thirsty Swedes. Albert Jansson comes here to make a living as a fisherman. But when he realizes that the price per liter of alcohol exceeds the price per kilo of cod by a huge margin, he quickly changes jobs. Strauss, however, does not accept the slightest competition and intends to make mincemeat of Albert, who also has the unusually zealous customs inspector Axel Winkel on his tail. Time to swap the life jacket for a bulletproof vest!

SMUGGLARKUNGEN brings together two of Sweden's most popular entertainers ever – Janne Carlsson in the role of Albert and Björn Skifs as Axel. Ernst Günther plays Strauss, and Danish rock icon Sanne Salomonsen is also in the cast. Screenwriters Åke Cato and Jan Richter also had a huge hit with Gräsänklingar, and the director is Sune Lund-Sörensen, who was also behind Skifs' smash hit Joker.
