After Frida and her long-time friend are burgled and the thief is sentenced to prison, they decide to do something unexpected – to free him! They have never believed in putting walls around people, so now they have to show that they practice what they preach! But first they have to manage to trick the prison director, who himself should be locked up – in a mental hospital!

Tage Danielsson's big hit is something as unusual as a Tage film in which Tage himself has a major role. The wonderful cast also includes Lena Nyman as Frida, Gösta Ekman as the prison boss, Ernst-Hugo Järegård as the thief, Margaretha Krook as the lovesick woman, Hasse Alfredson as the stupid prison guard, and Jan Malmsjö as the singing and dancing professor.

Much of the film was shot at Långholmen Prison in Stockholm shortly after it was closed down. Expressen
