Slade In Flame Blu-Ray + DVD
Slade in Flame has been described as "the Citizen Kane of British pop cinema" by critic Mark Kermode and both confused and delighted audiences when it was released in 1975, at the height of the legendary glam rock band's success. With the band themselves in the lead roles, this was a music film like no other. It depicts the rise and fall of a pop group in the late 1960s - from daring beginnings in shabby clubs to booze-filled finales in spectacular arenas – and this darkly cynical portrait of a band in free fall among the music industry's suits who want a piece of the pie was not what anyone had expected.
Slade in Flame has been hailed as a rock-solid cult classic over the following decades and features a razor-sharp script, fantastic performances, and a powerful soundtrack. It has recently been remastered by the BFI from the best available 35mm material for its first-ever release on Blu-ray.
