Sanna mödrar (DVD)
Japan's Oscar entry, by Naomi Kawase, who made the hit film
UNDER THEOuml;RSBÄRSTRÄDEN
After a long and fruitless struggle to conceive, Satoka and her husband decide to adopt a boy. They are overjoyed, but not for long. A few years later, the phone rings. A woman's voice says, "I want my child back!"
Four-time Cannes winner Naomi Kawase is back with a new film, as gripping as the acclaimed Under the Cherry Tree and After the Sunset. Kawase herself grew up as an adopted child and has based the story on Mizuki Tsijimura's 2015 bestseller. The film was a huge success in Japan and was selected as the country's Oscar entry for 2021.
