In Italy, Salong Kitty was completely banned and could only be released after 30 (!) cuts by the censors. In Sweden, it was called "Fascist porn" (Expressen) and journalists were outraged over Ingrid Thulin's participation. Surely it was not appropriate for a Guldbagge Award-winning Bergman actress to roll around naked in a Nazi brothel!

Caligula director Tinto Brass's scandalous film is based on Peter Norden's reality-based bestseller and takes place inside Berlin's most exclusive brothel – which is actually a disguised spy headquarters. Every sound and word from the high-ranking guests is recorded by the SS girls, who have been forced to become prostitutes in Hitler's name.

The film is now being released for the first time on Blu-ray – uncut and digitally restored in the Director's Cut version, which is four minutes longer than the cinema version!
