Romper Stomper - Digitalt restaurerad bluray
SPECIAL EDITION * DIGITALLY RESTORED
His head is shaved clean, his body covered in tattoos. In his hand he holds Mein Kampf, his bible and guide to justice. He is Hondo, leader of the feared neo-Nazis in Melbourne. Driven by blind hatred and even blinder prejudice, they attack the intruders with baseball bats, chains, and knives. Those who "stole their land," who don't look like them. The streets are their battlefield. Every year is a medal.
ROMPER STOMPER is considered today to be one of the most dangerous and provocative films ever made. At its premiere, the debate pages in Australia were filled with warnings that the film could lead to more violent deaths. In London, there were demonstrations outside the cinemas. But at the AFI Awards (Australia's Oscars), the tone was more upbeat. There, the film was awarded three statuettes, including one for Russell Crowe's leading role, which laid the foundation for his grand Hollywood career. Daily Mirror
