Five cadets from the US Military Academy at West Point take part in a training exercise in the New York countryside. Among them is Edgar Allan Poe, who later became famous as a horror writer. When the group encounters a stuffed man dressed as a scarecrow, a sinister mystery begins. In the nearby village of Raven's Hollow, the investigation into this gruesome murder begins. But when Edgar's first friend is murdered, the cadets suddenly feel threatened.
