After 22 years, Norman Bates is released from the mental hospital and returns to the Bates Motel. Sequel directed by Richard Franklin (Road Games) with screenplay by Tom Holland (The Evil Doll). Tarantino is a big fan of the film and considers it better than the original.

Prequel to Psycho where we get to experience Norman Bates' terrifying upbringing. Young Bates is played by Henry Thomas (Elliott in E.T.), directed by Mike Garris (several Stephen King films) and written by none other than Joseph Stefano, who wrote Hitchcock's original film. Both Anthony Perkins and Stephen King have said that this is their favorite among the sequels.
