40 years after its premiere, PIECES is still a brutally gruesome splatter film and has a large fan base in the US. In the 1980s, no Swedish film company could even dream of the film being approved by the censors, so it is only now that it is beginning its climb to cult status on Blu-ray. Juan Piquer Simón is responsible for the direction and the script was written by Joe D'Amato, a well-known Italian director of extremely brutal horror films and a hundred pornographic films.
