Decades after they separated, architect Peter Ibbetson (Cooper) and his childhood sweetheart Mary (Harding) are reunited when her husband hires Ibbetson to design a building. The relationship between the couple is rekindled until Ibbetson accidentally kills a man in self-defense and is sent to prison. Soon he is visited by Mary in his dreams...
