HISTORIC TRIPLE WINNER FOR

B Ä S T A F I L M

OSCAR * PALME D'OR * GOLDEN GLOBE

In 1960, Orfeu Negro achieved a unique hat trick when it became the first film in history to win all three of the biggest film awards – the Palme d'Or at Cannes and both the Oscar and Golden Globe for Best Foreign Language Film. Only two films have managed to repeat this fabulous feat since then. In addition, the film's soundtrack was a smash hit and had the whole world dancing to the new bossanova craze. In a stroke of genius, director Marcel Camus places the mythological lovers Orpheus and Eurydice in the slums of Rio de Janeiro. He is the bon vivant adored by all women, she is a shy country girl fleeing a murderous pursuer. Their fates intertwine during a day of ecstatic carnival madness where anything can happen—except the predictable.

Experience the music, get carried away by the rhythm, feel the heat and the pain, and let yourself be enchanted by one of history's most beloved films!

"AN ORGY OF BEAUTY. What an experience! A must-see!" Vecko Revyn

"A BRILLIANT FILM! It radiates joie de vivre in abundance to its viewers. I've never seen anything like it before."
