The film material has been meticulously restored, and the film's director, Ira Carpelan, has created a completely new feature film with a new script, new editing, newly written dialogue, and new voices based on the classic puppet animation.

This is a heartwarming and straightforward animated film for the whole family, with a fantastic story from the magical Moomin Valley, which so many people know and love. The adventures Moominpappa undertakes for his sick son are sure to awaken longing in many hearts.
