After 40 years and with a budget of $120 million, the director of films such as the Godfather trilogy andApocalypse Now has finally realized his long-awaited dream project MEGALOPOLIS, which deals with both a decadent future New York and the fall of ancient Rome at the same time.

MEGALOPOLIS is an epic vision of the future with a unique visual style, where a futuristic New York is depicted as if it were ancient Rome, ruled by a decadent upper class. Grand scenes depict the power struggle between Caesar Catilina, an architect and artistic genius who wants to transform the city into a utopian ideal society, and the conservative mayor Franklyn Cicero, who wants to preserve the luxury and privileges of the upper class. At the same time, we follow the love story between Catilina and Cicero's daughter Julia and the intrigues between family members in the ruling clans, which gives Coppola the opportunity to depict both intimate family relationships and the development of society as a whole in one and the same film.

A star-studded ensemble cast consisting of Adam Driver, Giancarlo Esposito, Nathalie Emmanuel, Aubrey Plaza, Jon Voight, Laurence Fishburne, Shia LaBeouf, Talia Shire, Jason Schwartzman, and Dustin Hoffman brings Coppola's allegorical script to life, exploring the eternal themes of humanity: greed, corruption, loyalty, idealism, power, love, and human endeavor.
