”Mrs. Robinson, you’re trying to seduce me. Aren’t you?”

”ONE OF THE TEN BEST FILMS IN HISTORY” – Helena Lindblad, DN, in the BFI's 2020 poll

With its frankness and innovative visual style, The Graduate managed to attract an entire generation of young adults. A whopping 87 million people saw the film in the US and 880,000 flocked to cinemas in Sweden, making the film a long-running hit that people saw over and over again. In 1968, the film won the Oscar for Best Director (Mike Nichols) and was nominated for six more awards, including the entire leading trio of Dustin Hoffman, Anne Bancroft, and Katharine Ross. Simon & Garfunkel's smash hit soundtrack won a Grammy for Album of the Year.

This is the story of Benjamin, who has just graduated from college and finds himself in the confusing gap between youth and adulthood. Through his parents, he meets the older and seductive Mrs.Robinson and begins a secret sexual relationship with her, before finding true love with his peer Elaine. The only problem is that Elaine is Mrs. Robinson's daughter...
