Macaroni (Retro Film) (DVD)
During World War II, American Robert and Italian Antonio were best friends. Forty years later, the now stressed-out and pill-popping Robert returns to Naples on business and, by chance, runs into his charming, life-loving friend. The now gray-haired gentlemen are drawn to each other, and Antonio convinces his friend to take a break from the rat race for a while and just enjoy life. But how is it that half the town seems to know who Robert is? The time has come for Antonio to reveal a secret he has been carrying for 40 years...
With his warmth and humor, Ettore Scola has touched us with a series of deeply human films such as We All Loved Each Other So Much and Ugly, Shitty, and Mean. In Macaroni, he brings together two film legends—two-time Oscar winner Jack Lemmon and two-time Cannes winner Marcello Mastroianni.
