The unfortunate Logan brothers decide to change their family's fortunes and pull off the coup of the decade during one of the biggest NASCAR races: the legendary Coca Cola 600 race at the world-famous Charlotte Motor Speedway in North Carolina. All they have to do is be smart enough, keep their nerves in check, and bring along the right accomplices, such as explosives expert Joe Bang and his sister.

Oscar-winning director Steven Soderbergh, behind the Ocean's trilogy and Magic Mike, among others, is back with a new clever film. In addition to a star-studded cast, we also get to see six legendary NASCAR stars in non-driving cameo roles.

Review

Sound 2/5

This film had a nice American Ocean Eleven soundtrack. And you can tell that Steven Soderbergh is behind the film. But I can't say that the sound ever gave me the feeling that its potential was being exploited. Because it was there, especially in the short scenes where the NASCAR race cars whizzed by. No, the sound was there, but I can't say that. The music was the only thing that lifted it from a 1. It was like a bad Blu-ray release. It was never really detailed, nothing really stood out, it's boring in terms of both sound and image. It's a shame they didn't choose to put more money in the budget for this. The film itself was well filmed and had many good scenes; I think Steven did a good job. Tempo changes in scenes, etc. But I don't want to talk about the picture, as this was also a disappointment.

Actors/Plot 4.5/5

This is where the film shines, and it shines brightly. Let's start with the actors. Adam Driver is something of a fantastic chameleon; there is no film in which he does not do a good job, and this film is no exception. Daniel Craig's performance is always a little difficult to judge, but in this film he suits the character very well. He does a good job, but I find it difficult to pinpoint him in his films. He is fantastic as James Bond, but beyond that, he is a bit mediocre.

In my opinion, Channing Tatum is an overrated actor; he makes great action films. But here, I think he succeeds. He manages to give his character a little depth, but it's not much, and that's okay because the film doesn't demand more than that. Overall, I think the actors do an excellent job, except for the female FBI agent, who could have been played by a robot. But where the film is wonderful, and where I get nostalgic, is the plot. I see so much of the Jönsson Gang in the characters and the plot. But that's definitely not a bad thing, no, on the contrary, it's just good. Much of the plot is reminiscent of the Ikea heist with the Jönsson Gang. The pace is good and the story is interesting and has some twists and turns.

Summary 4/5

Here they've taken Ocean's Eleven and the Jönsson Gang, thrown in actors like Adam, Daniel, and Channing, and created something fantastic. They've thrown in pleasant music and tempo changes, funny dialogue, and good acting. I like the film and my wife couldn't help but enjoy it. Where the film falls short is in the production, sound, and image on a 4K screen; you have to demand more, I can demand more from a Blu-ray. It's a shame that the film falls short in this regard, as it is so entertaining.

I try to be concise in my reviews, and I'm stopping myself here, as I have done many times before, without spoiling the film. but what I can say is that it is ABSOLUTELY worth watching for most of the family (except my 4- and 5-year-old children).
