Jean Reno plays Léon, a French hitman in New York who can't read and works for an Italian mobster. He's an expert at his job and lives in a small apartment. The only thing he owns is his beloved potted plant. One day, his neighbor receives a visit from a cruel and dirty cop, who kills everyone in the family except one: 12-year-old Mathilda, who seeks refuge with Leon. Leon finds no other choice but to take care of her for the time being. Unfortunately, Mathilda wants to learn his profession so that she can seek revenge!
