KYRKOHERDEN (BLURAY)

A quirky Swedish sex comedy in which a witch's curse causes a virtuous priest to wake up one morning with a chronic erection... in 1812. All the men are away at war and the village of Fors gets a new pastor. The pastor's ancestor burned a witch at the stake in the 17th century, and she cast a curse on the family. One day, the priest wakes up with an erection that won't go away.

He has been invited to visit the dean, and all the sex-starved women in the village do their best to cure the priest's condition so that the visit can take place... The film is based on Bengt Anderberg's short story När det gick för kyrkoherden (When It Went for the Pastor) in the popular anthology Kärlek I (Love I) (1965). Director Torgny Wickman (Kärlekens språk) was passionate about issues surrounding sexuality and the double standards of the clergy and small towns, so the film was perfect for him.
