Empress Elizabeth of Austria-Hungary, known to the masses as "Sisi," is idolized for her beauty and inspiring fashion sense, but unlike her husband, she has no power. In 1877, "Sisi" turns 40 and is officially considered an old woman. To maintain her public image, she diets and tightens her corset harder and harder. Trapped in her own golden cage, she develops increasingly stubborn character traits and indulges in things she really should avoid.
