Anita Ekberg, known as "the sex symbol of cinema" and known for her iconic dip in the Trevi Fountain in Fellini's "La Dolce Vita," delivers an incredibly unique and X-rated performance in "THE KILLER NUN." In an interview exclusive to this edition, Ekberg reveals her frustration with the "bombshell type" that followed, and she prefers to work on films like "Killer Nun," boldly explaining: "This is the kind of film I like!

"Killer Nun" was originally banned as a Video Nasty and is a true "Nunsploitation" film that uniquely crosses over into the Giallo genre. The film is presented here uncut and perfectly restored from a 2K scan of the camera negative, and this edition finally does justice to the creator's uncompromising and frenetic vision. With impressive high-style photography and vivid, delightfully surreal murders, it is excellently enhanced by the dreamlike but dystopian music of Alessandro Alessandroni (immortalized by his twangy guitar and his legendary whistling in Sergio Leone's westerns). The music itself is a manic masterpiece.Based on a true story, Ekberg's captivating presence and tour-de-force performance portrays a nun who becomes a drug addict and engages in robbery, molestation, and murder of pensioners in a church-run retirement home - all while seducing young nuns with her sapphic desires! The nun is aided by a hunky doctor played by Andy Warhol's superstar protégé Joe D'Alessandro (also spelled Joe Dallesandro, he was hailed as "Little Joe" in Lou Reed's famous "Walk On The Wild Side").
