Kärlekens Språk (1969) (Blu-ray)
Sex education at its best! The language of love managed to break through the film censors' resistance to sexual depictions on the silver screen. Censorship chief Erik Skogslund watched the film twice and then had to take three days off work. The Language of Love was the starting point for modern pornographic films and one of the biggest financial successes in Swedish film history. It cost SEK 700,000 to produce and grossed SEK 6.5 million in its first year. In London, 30,000 English people demonstrated against the film, led by Cliff Richards. The placards read: Sweden – more porn, more suicides, more alcoholism and more gonorrhea every year. The Language of Love was banned in Norway and confiscated by US customs.
