In Wicked, the story of the witches of Oz, we follow the misunderstood Elphaba and the popular Glinda. They meet as students in the fantastical land of Oz and develop an unexpected but deep friendship. After an encounter with the famous Wizard of Oz, their friendship reaches a turning point and their lives take very different directions. Glinda's strong desire for popularity leads her to be seduced by power, while Elphaba's determination to remain true to herself and those around her leads to shocking consequences for her future.
