Walking The Edge Blu-Ray

Cult film icons Robert Forster (Medium Cool) and Joe Spinell (Maniac) star alongside Nancy Kwan (Flower Drum Song) in Norbert Meisel's action drama Walking the Edge. Jason Walk (Forster), an unhappy taxi driver and number cruncher, gets a chance at redemption when his path crosses that of the vengeful Christine Holloway (Kwan). She is out to get a gang of violent criminals, led by Brusstar (Spinell), who murdered her husband and son. Jason accidentally drives Christine to their hideout, and when she is unable to finish the job, a hell-bent Brusstar and his henchmen chase the couple with vengeance.

Jason Walk's taxi drives around early 1980s Los Angeles picking up passengers—gamblers, prostitutes, and addicts—who fit into this milieu. Walking the Edge is therefore both a sleazy urban thriller and a valuable visual documentation of an L.A. that has long since been scrubbed clean and rebuilt. And just like Max Cherry in Jackie Brown, Jason Walk is the kind of hero that Forster excelled at playing throughout his career. For Edge, director Meisel (Mafia Girls) collaborated for the first time with his wife Kwan. Screenwriter Curt Allen's subsequent credits include Forster's cult favorite Hollywood Harry. Genre veteran Jay Chattaway (Maniac and Vigilante) drives the film forward with a driving and rousing film score.
