When a little girl is brutally killed by a vampire in a small European village in the 1800s, the villagers invade Count Mitterhaus' castle and kill him for the crime. As he dies, the count curses the villagers, vowing that all their children will die so that he can one day return to life.

Fifteen years later, when the village is ravaged by the plague, a traveling circus comes to town and distracts the villagers from their current hardships. They don't know that their problems have only just begun...
