Shinji Soma's beloved cult film Typhoon Club is widely known as the director's groundbreaking film and is considered one of the greatest Japanese films ever made.

Typhoon Club offers a fascinating insight into the lives of disaffected high school students on the cusp of adulthood and features a lively cast of young talents, including idol Youki Kudoh (The Crazy Family, Mystery Train), who are confronted with existential intrigues, burgeoning sexuality, and rising social tensions in the days leading up to a typhoon. Stranded in their school building as the storm subsides, the group undergoes an awakening as they dispel all uncertainties, fears, and desires amid the storm's aftermath.
