Agents Mulder and Scully (David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson) make their big screen debut as they attempt to locate the source of a deadly virus, which may have been brought to Earth by aliens thirty-seven thousand years ago. As usual, their investigation reveals a potential FBI cover-up, brings them into contact with conspiracy theorists (this time a paranoid doctor (Martin Landau)), and leads them to the doorstep of the all-powerful but anonymous Syndicate.
