The Barnabas Kos Case Blu-Ray
Barnabáš Kos, a humble and modest triangle player in a state orchestra, is inexplicably promoted to music director. Now intoxicated with power, the once shy Kos transforms into a tyrant who attempts to reshape the orchestra to suit his own agenda and inflated vision...
Peter Solan (Before Tonight is Over) has created an absurd, darkly funny and Kafkaesque satire about a corrupt system that rewards mediocrity and breeds petty dictatorship. The film openly criticizes the methods of the then-socialist Czechoslovakia, and its ironic exposure of hypocrisy, insincerity, and the corrupting influence of power is few surprising, fresh and relevant today.
