The people of the kingdom look down on the young Prince Bojji, who can neither hear nor speak. They call him "The Worthless Prince" while mocking his supposed stupidity. But even though Bojji may not be physically strong, he is certainly not weak at heart. When a chance encounter with a shadow creature should have traumatized him, it instead leads him to believe that he has found a friend among those who only choose to note his shortcomings. He begins to meet the shadow creature Kage regularly, to the point that even the otherwise reluctant creature begins to like him. Kage and Bojji's unlikely friendship lays the burgeoning foundation for the prince's journey, a journey in which he intends to overcome his fears and insecurities. Despite the constant deception, Bojji decides to fulfill his wish to become the best king he can be.
