Pearls Of The Deep Blu-Ray

Sale price655 kr

Pearls of the Deep is a manifesto for a new generation of young filmmakers and one of the highlights of the Czechoslovak New Wave. Based on stories by Bohumil Hrabal, the film is a compendium of five films, each showcasing the different styles of five emerging filmmakers: Jiri Menzel, Jan Nemec, Evald Schorm, Vera Chytilova, and Jaromil Jires.

Each vignette offers unique perspectives on Hrabal's multifaceted stories about ordinary people and their odd obsessions. The films range from the surreal to the satirical and romantic, capturing the essence and spirit of Hrabal's work and serving as a joyful rallying cry for subversion and artistic expression.
